Charity

I got to choose the theme, hooray! I picked "charity" because when Sam told me to select the theme, I was on Facebook and the ad on the right talked about some charity in South America or something. This is derived from a conversation I had with my father after this media circus, because we both agreed that we'd rather have the family pull the plug than become vegetables. I also recently read an online discussion about Juliana Wetmore, in which one person asked:

"I am so torn on this. On the one hand, I am all for helping children with the advances in medicine we have. On the other ... what about her quality of life?? Basically, she doesn't have a life without medicine and that can't be what it's about, either, can it? ... 'Course, offing her now would not really be an option, either. *sigh* Why is it so accepted to let animals die with dignity and without pain but we can't seem to do the same for humans?"

How is this related? Somehow, I feel. Like, the whole quality of life thing. I dunno. What do you think?

  1. julia,
the strange thing is that I could see your father
    pulling the plug on you,
but where's your mom? because I can see her plugging you back in...
OR cooking korean beef and unvegetablizing your brain.
